Popped by the Curve in the afternoon after having lunch and headed straight to Borders there.
And I went crazy in Borders today. I kid you not.
I was literally on a book frenzy.
It could be because i haven't been buying books for such a long time already, that when faced with suchs good deals for books that i've been hearing so much about, i couldn't but help splurge on it!
I stepped in and faced the table that had the '3 for 2' books.
And within a minute, i already had 4 books in my arms :P
Carried the pile of books with me and browsed some more to see what other interesting books i could find at the place. I think I must've looked like such a nerd >.<
I would reach out for books without a second thought and before i knew it, i was lugging around 9 books with me :P
But that was one too many, so i only got 8 books, two of which were presents to really good friends!
(i think i've said this before, but don't books just make the best of presents!)
Damage done = RM 230. I'm using this as a treat to myself for my good results, and it's books! I mean, as opposed to buying other stuff, i think this is a much better way to treat oneself! =)
Also best to stock up nicely with books first so that i will always have something to read when in uni!
I mentioned how buying books is so much more fulfilling than buying clothes sometimes and my guyfriend couldn't believe that he heard that, especially coming from a girl LOL!
Did a little bit more shopping before i came home for a quick dinner, shower and then head back out to the Curve (again) to chill at Laundry Bar for a while before catching The Dark Knight at Cineleisure Platinum!
Ok, anyone who knows me knows that I don't drink beer. I don't like how it is bitter and hard to drink. And also because it hits you right at your glands below your cheek and it makes you (or at least me) cringe >.<
But seeing that this was the only thing the guys were drinking, i decided to give it a try, again.
I cringed, again and mentioned that it was bitter. So they told me that i shouldn't sip it, but take big gulps.
So take big gulps, i did.
And it wasn't that bad. I guess it just takes some getting used to. Especially the part where it is just really gassy and a tad bitter.
But i would still take a whiskey coke any day :p
Headed over to Cineleisure Platinum (Platinum is like the Gold Class of Cineleisure) after that for the movie and every part of it (the place and the movie) was awesome!
The place is a small theatre of 24 big, plush, comfy, reclinable seats with excellent butler-like services provided. They serve you food in your seats! All you have to do is order before or during the movie.
I was sitting on the front row and i was so afraid that it'll be so close to the screens that i wouldn't enjoy it. but despite it being the front row, i didn't have any trouble watching the movie at all, all thanks to the (electrically) reclinable seats! :D Visual was good, audio was good too!
As for the movie, it was superb and bloody excellent. The flow of the movie was really smooth and i personally think it was better than Batman Begins. I won't spoil it for you guys, but all i can say is that they really couldn't have picked a better person to play the Joker than Heath Ledger!
I really think that the movie couldn't be as good were it not for his acting as the Joker. It was so good that i actually felt psychologically afraid of him (watch it and you'll know what i mean).
You guys *have* to watch it!
Popped by Sanctuary for a while after for Yih Lin's Birthday celebration. Caught up with the girls there a little bit, danced a little (Thursday night at Sanctuary = good music!) before calling it a night.
Feeling rather talkative right now, hence the long blog post. Also it's to make up for my relatively long absence from here :p
Well, since the last post, i've played paintball in a multi-storey carpark, been waking up at 3 in the afternoon, met up with classmates from my primary school whom i haven't seen for ages and been enjoying the last week of holiday a lot! :)
That's about it. Time to sleep for me. There's a nice sweeping, cool breeze tonight and i reckon i'll be having a good night's sleep because of it :)
Good night Voxers!
I'm actually considering getting my own domain and moving my blog there. I'm really still just thinking about it only and there are pros and cons of actually doing so.
Vox has been really good to me. in fact, it really is one of the best blogging service provider i've ever seen because everything is pretty much ready for you when you sign up. The interface is really very simple and direct. You get to upload videos and photos so simply, it requires no effort at all. They also have layouts ready for you so you don't have to spend time coding your own page. Perfect for people who are just too lazy to code it themselves like me hehe.
And you know what's the best part? The people that you meet here are precious. i've met so many people from all over the world and because it's an exclusive community, you bond with them much better than you would regularly. This one is for you Vox neighbours! <3
On the other hand, the downside of being in Vox is that a lot of my friends have told me that they hate it that they can't comment (oh you know who you are =p) without having to create an account, which more often than not, they won't go through the trouble of doing so. I can totally understand where they're coming from because if i were in their position as well, i wouldn't go through the trouble either lol.
But see, here's the weird part. I used to have my own domain (albeit very long ago) with my own blog on it and it was definitely different than blogging here. i'm thinking that psychologically, not having random people publicly post comments on my blog here makes me more comfortable in writing what i feel sometimes. Perhaps it's cause i feel like i'm not being judged or being evaluated (whoa deep stuff lol). But yeah, you get what i mean right?
I guess what i'm afraid of is that i'll lose my style of writing or my identity when people post up comments and i realize that there are more people who read my blog than i thought. it could happen.
Have i also mentioned that it is a big pain in the ass to think up of a domain name? lol.
In the mean time while i keep thinking, i guess you will all have to settle for reading from here and not being able to comment first ;)
On another more random note, Iron Man was absolutely awesome! It was definitely worth the trip back home to watch it with him. They really couldn't have picked a better person than Robert Downey Jr. to play the role of Iron Man. Go watch it guys!
...is definitely one of the best movies this year!
it was funny as hell! and i love Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom in it.. the whole badass pirate look just suits them.
and i find it ironic that the funniest part of the movie was the part where there was most action - the part where the Dutchmen and the Black Pearl goes against one another.
that scene was totally awesome!
i don't know if i'm the only one, but did any of you cry at the ending?
the ending was so so sad right?
one day for every 10 years... =(
today was just crazy. and i'm barely surviving now from the 4 hours of sleep i got last night...
i'm gonna pass out on my bed now..
good night!
Last night, me, David, and Melvin had a spontaneous trip down to Ipoh to hunt for Japanese food..
i said that it was spontaneous because David called me only after i ordered my food at the cafe..
lucky thing the chef hadn't made the dish yet...
Changed and jumped into Melvin's car with the both of them and we were headed to Iroiro at Ipoh Parade...
at least i thought we were headed to Iroiro...
we ended up at....
and i actually believed him >.<
Recommended by one of David's friends, Waraku is a quaint and cozy little Japanese Restaurant located in Ipoh, nearby Jusco...
you can either choose to sit on the cushion, Jap style or at....
the tables and chairs that they've prepared...
it wasn't very noisy cause there weren't that many people there..
the ambience was just nice.. soft background music, slightly dim lights with perfect decor!
but of course, a restaurant is only as good as the food it serves...
I had the hardest time ordering my dishes cause there were just so many choices!
rice, noodles, soup, tempura, sushi, sake...
you name it, they probably have it! authentic japanese indeed!
In the end, i ordered Unagi Don (i think that's what it's called =p)
Melvin had the Yaki Udon
and David had the Curry Rice!
and you know you're dealing with a bunch of bloggers if they snap photos of their food first before eating..
all 3 of us spent a good 15 minutes snapping photos of the food before we got to savour them lol!
here's my dish...
it was a simple dish... Unagi (eel) with some scambled eggs and rice..
and it tasted so effing good i tell you!
the eel was fat! (ok now, don't go thinking dirty >.<)
and it was really fresh...
and the sauce they used was just damn yummy! not too sweet, not too salty..
how to go back to Sushi King after having this, you tell me?
This is Melvin's Yaki Udon..
It's noodles with something.. i'm not sure what >.<
but it looked delicious as well!
i didn't try any of it though but according to Melvin, it was really good!
David had the curry rice but i didn't snap a photo of it =/
but also according to Melvin (he tried some), it was irresistable!
of course there is a first for everything..
We had Sake!
Sake is actually rice wine!
i had 3 small shots and my cheeks were already red lol...
Thanks fo David for treating us to that!
we also had unagi and baby octopus sushi which was fabulous!
the size of the sushi was bigger than sushi king's and the price difference is barely noticible.
Last but not least, i had...
And this was authentic miso soup!
not the powder mixed with hot water, fake miso soup...
David had the soft shell crab miso soup which kicked my miso soup's ass.
I highly recommend Waraku to anyone who might be in Ipoh and have a sudden craving for Japanese food.
it's a little bit pricier than Sushi King or Genki Sushi, but trust me, it's worth it!
we popped by Jusco for a while after that cause Melvin wanted to stock up on food and then we had a long journey back to uni, while laughing a lot in the car (david can really come up with the lamest of jokes lol)!
and i've finally watched Music and Lyrics (after being super lost in the car when Melvin and David were talking about it) and it's a really sweet and funny movie! one of the better romantic comedies out there! go watch it!
and i can't get the song out of my head!
=)
I've been living with a shadow overhead
I've been sleeping with a cloud above my bed
I've been lonely for so long
Trapped in the past, I just can't seem to move onI've been hiding all my hopes and dreams away
Just in case I ever need em again someday
I've been setting aside time
To clear a little space in the corners of my mindAll I want to do is find a way back into love
I can't make it through without a way back into loveI've been watching but the stars refuse to shine
I've been searching but I just don't see the signs
I know that it's out there
There's got to be something for my soul somewhereI've been looking for someone to shed some light
Not somebody just to get me through the nightI could use some direction
And I'm open to your suggestionsAll I want to do is find a way back into love
I can't make it through without a way back into love
And if I open my heart again
I guess I'm hoping you'll be there for me in the end
There are moments when I don't know if it's real
Or if anybody feels the way I feel
I need inspiration
Not just another negotiationAll I want to do is find a way back into love
I can't make it through without a way back into love
And if I open my heart to you
I'm hoping you'll show me what to do
And if you help me to start again
You know that I'll be there for you in the end
Hell yeah! you heard me right! you'd better stash a wad of cash aside for movie tickets because you don't wanna miss what's coming out this year!
(click on them for the trailers)

Oh i can't wait for them to be released! I would say that the one i'm most looking forward to is Pirates of the Caribbean 3 and Spiderman 3!
Which ones are you looking forward to?
